Description

  • Go to TAGS»SNPDB to carry out the following actions:
    • Review records tagged by a "SNPDB Tag"
    • Remove individual records from a "SNPDB Tag"
    • Delete the whole tag
    • Permanently delete tagged markers from SNPDB
  • "SNPDB Tags" are always "private" access, only your own "SNPDB Tags" are displayed.
  • Tag a SNPDB database entry with a new or existing "SNPDB Tag" in SNPDB»SEARCH. (Find out more...)
  • BINNER»SNP TAGS can accept "SNPDB Tags" as input, so "problem" markers (e.g. for which a lot of genotype data is missing in a SNPDB project) can be identified in a SNPDB»SEARCH and submitted for binning, without preparing a BINNER input file off-line or the need to identify these markers again in MARKERS»SEARCH.
  • "SNPDB Tags" can be used in the same way as a "marker set" on the MARKERS»SEARCH page, thus giving access to the related generic SNP marker information and all the filter, display and export options of MARKERS.
  • To find out more about using "SNPDB Tags" and "SNPDB Sample Tags", please also refer to the manual section on "SNPDB Tags" versus "SNPDB Sample Tags".

How to use this option

  • Select TAGS»SNPDB from the 'GENica Marker Tools' menu.
  • A table with the "SNPDB Tags" you have previously created is displayed, see screenshot below. The table can be sorted by the different column headers by clicking on them.
  • Click on a link next to a tag to carry out the following actions:
  1. [VIEW MARKERS]: See the tagged SNPDB entries. This opens the tagged records in the SNPDB»SEARCH interface, giving access to its "combine searches" feature, as well as its display and export options.
  2. [VIEW MASTER MARKERS]: Open the tagged markers in the MARKERS»SEARCH interface. This gives access to filter and export options as well as information on SNP markers, if available.
  3. [EDIT MARKER TAGS]: Remove a "SNPDB Tag" from one or more records. A new interface opens, select the [UNTAG] link next to unwanted entries. This will only remove the tag, but won't delete the tagged entry from the database.
  4. [DELETE TAG]: Delete a "SNPDB Tag". This will remove the tag from all the tagged records, but won't delete the tagged entries from the database.
  5. [DELETE MARKERS]: Remove all the SNPDB-tagged records permanently from the SNPDB database.
IMPORTANT:

Deleting tagged records with [DELETE MARKERS] removes them permanently from the SNPDB database.

  • To double-check which entries will be deleted, open a "SNPDB tag" in SNPDB»SEARCH and review the selected records on-line or after exporting them.
