GMT Tutorial Exercise 7
Search GEMDB "“ Find the number of allele entries available for a specific marker in a project
- Select GEMDB and then SEARCH.
- Select Tag: All
- Select Group: All
- Select Project: "your name_demo" (created in Exercise 4, and where demo genotype data was imported in Exercise 5. Please ensure both exercises have been completed beforehand.)
- Select Run: "2005-11-28_Plate1"
- Do not select any of the fields available under Other. Do not enter a search string.
- Select one of the markers from the Marker drop-down list. Only markers available in the selected Project, Run, etc. are displayed.
- Do not enter an Allele number, Range, or any other settings after this.
- Click Search.
- The number of "hits" for your search is displayed in the Search History table. This is equivalent to the number of allele entries for the selected marker in the selected project.
(Please do not remove this search from the Search History table before doing Exercise 8 and / or Exercise 11.)
- Try this for several markers, e.g. "hv0032" and "hv0790". You will note that in the tutorial example, "hv0790" has few hits, indicating missing data, see the highlighted entries in the Search History table in the screenshot below.
