GMT Tutorial Exercise 31

Change the "species" entry for samples in SNPDB

  1. Select SNPDB then SEARCH.
  2. Select Project: "your name_demo" (as created in Exercise 4, and where demo genotype data was imported in Exercise 27. Please ensure both exercises have been completed beforehand.).
  3. Click Search. All the records previously imported are selected.
  4. In the Search History table, click on View Results next to the search just performed.
  5. Click on Tag all results, enter a new tag name and make sure the new tag is a SNPDB SAMPLE Tag, not a SNPDB TAG. Click Save.
  6. This automatically opens the TAGS»SNPDB SAMPLE interface. Alternatively, select TAGS from the GMT menu, then select the submenu option SNPDB SAMPLE.
  7. Click on Set Species next to the tag created in step 5 (link highlighted in green in the screenshot below). A new interface opens.
  8. Select "domesticated barley (112509: Hordeum vulgare subsp. vulgare)" from the Species drop-down box.
  9. Click Save. The "species" entry for all the tagged samples has now been updated.
