GMT Tutorial Exercise 27
Import data into SNPDB
- Open the "SNPDB_import_example.txt" file (downloaded in Exercise 3) in a spreadsheet viewer and take note of the way the data is formatted. This file was prepared from the raw Luminex output file with the SNPscorer macro prepared by Matt Hayden, see exercise 26.
- Login to GENica Marker Tools.
- Select SNPDB, then select IMPORT, to reach the SNPDB»IMPORT interface shown in the screenshot below.
- Click on Browse and select the file to be imported ("SNPDB_import_example.txt", downloaded in Exercise 3).
- Select the Project / Group under which to store the data to be imported: "your name_demo", see Exercise 4.
- Leave Platform Used as 'unknown'; the example import file has an entry in the "Platform" field.
- Select "barley (4513: Hordeum vulgare)" from the Species options.
- Leave the PlateID empty; the example import file has an entry in the "Plate ID" field.
(Please note, though, that an entry for PlateID always has to be provided to SNPDB, either in the import file or through the import interface.)
- Click Import.
- Either wait for the import results, or retrieve them from the ADMIN»DASHBOARD "System Messages" box at a later time.
- A table will appear that details the data that has been imported.
- Click Finished. The "SNPDB»BROWSE" interface opens automatically, where imported data can be reviewed, see Exercise 28.
