Open the macro and enable the macro functions



Pease note that the macros have to be used in Microsoft Excel 2003 or newer. They might not work properly with older versions.

Enable macro functions in Microsoft Excel 2003

  1. Before opening the macros, ensure Microsoft Excel2003 is configured to accept medium level macro security. To set the security level, open a new Excel spreadsheet and go to Tools » Macro » Security on the menu.
  2. In the dialogue box that appears, choose the Medium "Security Level" and click OK. The medium level macro security setting is stored as a default setting, and therefore this operation needs to be performed only once.
  3. Open the macro by double-clicking on its file icon.
  4. A dialogue box will appear to ask if you would like to enable the macro. Click the Enable macro button.

Enable macro functions in Microsoft Excel 2007

  1. Before opening a macro, ensure Microsoft Excel2007 is set up to allow enabling blocked content.
    To do this, open a new Excel spreadsheet and select:
    Office button » Excel Options » Trust Center » Trust Center Settings"¦ » Macro Settings » Disable all macros with notification.
  2. Then select Message Bar on the Trust Center Settings"¦ window and make sure Show the Message Bar in all applications where content has been blocked is selected. Click OK to close both the Trust Center Settings and the Excel Options windows. These are now stored as your default settings, choosing these setting is therefore only necessary once.
  3. Open the macro by double-clicking on the file icon.
  4. If an error message appears stating that the macro cannot be run, click OK.
    Please note:
    • Usually, this only happens when an option requiring macro function is selected, e.g. when clicking on the Next Sheet button or similar.
    • Simply use the macro as stated in the instructions and enable macro functions when the need arises.
  5. Click on the message bar's Options"¦ button, surrounded in green on this screenshot:
  6. Select Enable this content on the Microsoft Office Security Options window and click OK.
