GMT Tutorial Exercise 22 - Workflow 1 - Step 13
Separate PCR products on the ABI3730
- Forward PCR products to your DNA fragment separation service provider, together with the Sample Submission File generated by the macro, see also the previous step of this workflow.
- If using an ABI3730, fragment separation results will be returned as an electronic folder with an *.fsa file for each of the sample wells that were analysed.
- Beside the actual electrotrace, each of the *.fsa files also contains information from the Sample Submission File, e.g. the sample name, the name of the marker panel and the size standard used in a well. This information can be accessed when opening *.fsa files in GeneMapper, if it is set up according to the instructions in this workflow.
- Proceed to the next step of the workflow for instructions how the Automated Designer for Marker Screening can be used to create files and information that helps to analyse electrotraces in GeneMapper.
