GMT Tutorial Exercise 2
Navigate across GENica Marker Tools
- Below is a brief outline of each mode of function available through the GENica Marker Tools (GMT) menu.
- For each, a screenshot shows the available "submenu" options.
- Try navigating to different modes of function and their different options.
- Click on the mode of function's name in the GMT menu (shaded in mid blue).
- Wait for the page to load, then click on the desired submenu item (shaded in light blue).
- Note that the active mode of function and the selected submenu option are always highlighted in bold.
MARKERS .:. Search for marker information (e.g. the MRTTM marker database), map position or create and manage your own markers.
BINNER .:. Create marker panels without allele overlaps. This feature previously existed as the stand-alone "Marker Binner" application.
GEMDB .:. Store and share GeneMapper®-generated SSR data across projects. Correct data for dye drift and MRT tags. Perform advanced searches, e.g. identify lines with a particular marker profile.
DARTS .:. Store DArT® results in custom projects. Perform advanced searches across projects, plates, etc.
SNPDB .:. Store SNP genotype data in custom projects. Perform advanced searches across projects, plates, etc.
Please note: SNPDB is currently only available in pre-release, its general release is anticipated ca. from GMT release 70 onwards.
TAGS .:. Tag markers for later retrieval or as BINNER input. Tag GEMDB entries for further work, as BINNER input, or to delete from GEMDB. Tag DARTDB entries for further work or to be deleted from DARTDB.
FILES .:. Upload files for sharing. Download tools supporting MRTTM marker technology ("Automated Designer" macros).
OPTIONS .:. Display and export options.
ADMIN .:. View GMT messages. Access import and analysis results when completed. View user groups. Edit user details. View / create new users and groups (group administrators only). Import MARKERS DB data and associated gel image files into marker sets available to your group (group administrators only).
HELP .:. An extensive online help system is available for users throughout GMT and is easily accessed at any stage by clicking HELP. The help documentation is displayed in a new window as shown in the screenshot below.
