GENica CMap Staging Data Standards
Map set selection criteria
Any map of interest to one or more users with access to GENica CMap Staging can be included in GENica CMap Staging.
Map set information
When a map set is created using the "admin tools" of GENica CMap Staging, entries must be provided for the following fields:
- Map set name
- Short name
- Species
- Map type
- Record submitted by
Entries may be provided for the following additional fields:
- Reference(s)
- QTL
- Notes
- Cross-reference(s)
Users are encouraged to provide this information in accordance with the data standards for GENica CMap Live and the GENica instructions for preparing GENica CMap map set information.

Import file preparation
Map data are imported into GENica CMap in tab-delimited files formatted as specified by GMOD and prepared as described in the GENica instructions for preparing import files for CMap.

Locus naming conventions
Users are encouraged to take the observations outlined in the data standards for GENica CMap Live into account when deciding on locus names.

Use of feature types
Users are encouraged to follow the guidelines for the use of feature types described in the GENica CMap Live Data Standards.
