Log in to 'GENica Marker Tools'
Description
- Group administrators can import marker data into mrtmarker-type marker sets with the ADMIN»MARKER DB IMPORT option.
- For each of the markers in a marker set, an image file (showing e.g. typical electrotraces or the banding pattern on a gel) can be submitted with the ADMIN»ELECTROGRAM IMAGE UPLOAD option, to help users assess marker quality and recognise correct peaks / bands.
How to use this option
- Create a "Marker DB Input" file as described in the manual part on ADMIN»MARKER DB IMPORT.
- For every marker that is to be linked to an image, enter the name of the corresponding image file in the column entitled "OpenElect".
- Save all the image files in a folder. Image files can be in JPG and PNG format. Note that filenames are case sensitive and should be exactly the same as in the Marker DB Input file.
- "Zip" every image file in the folder:
- Open the folder.
- Press Ctrl+A to select all the image files.
- Right-click on the selected files and select "Send To"»"Compressed (zipped) Folder" or, if "winzip" is installed, "winzip"»"add to <filename>.zip".
- This should create an archive of the files.
IMPORTANT: The size of the zipped folder must not exceed 10 MB.
Save image files in two or more folders, as necessary, to keep their "zipped" size under this limit.

- Import the Marker DB Input file into a new or existing mrtmarker-type marker set, as described in the manual part on ADMIN»MARKER DB IMPORT.
- Select ADMIN»ELECTROGRAM IMAGE UPLOAD on the 'GENica Marker Tools' menu.
- Use the "BROWSE" button to find and select the zipped folder with image files.
- Select the MRT Marker Set to which the images belong from the drop-down box.
- If images are saved in more than one zipped folder, repeat steps 7. and 8. until all the image file folders have been uploaded. The order in which this image files are uploaded is not important.
